Marriage and Family Therapy, Individual and Couples’ Counseling

Are you concerned about your child or teen? Is anxiety, depression, conflict or stress negatively affecting your life? Seeking help takes courage and strength. I can help relieve the pain by helping you develop healthy coping skills so you can enjoy life again.

I am Jessica Zingelman, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than a dozen years of experience restoring hope to people who had little or none. I enjoy working with children and adolescents and their families, as well as with individual adults and couples. I believe it is imperative to build a relationship with my clients. This respectful connection is the basis of our work together, because counseling is a collaborative effort aimed at improving lives.

I will provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment to help promote change. When necessary, I will work collaboratively with your or your child’s school, family physicians and psychiatrists.

About Jessica Zingelman, MSW, LICSW

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who practices psychotherapy in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Most of my clients come to me on referral from former, satisfied clients or from teachers, school staff and other mental health professionals who know and respect my work.

I am motivated by compassion and a desire to help people make the positive changes that they desire. I provide a safe and relaxed atmosphere to ease any anxiety you may have about coming into therapy.

“You are braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” — Christopher Robin

Restoring Hope, Improving Lives

I strongly believe in restoring hope to those who are currently experiencing little to none. I find it enormously satisfying to help people develop the skills they need to enjoy a brighter future. I take pride in my ability to work successfully with clients of all types, including those who are who are initially resistant to the idea of counseling.

I graduated with a master’s degree in social work from the University of Minnesota in 2001. I began my career as an in-home family therapist working with children who were in adoptive or foster care settings. I conducted supervised visitations and parent-child attachment assessments, and I provided parent-child behavioral training. By visiting clients in their homes, where they were the most vulnerable, I quickly developed a respectful and nonjudgmental attitude toward clients and an ability to connect with and help people of all backgrounds.

A Practical Approach

After five years in this field, I moved to a clinic setting as a psychotherapist working with a variety of people from children (6 yrs. +), adolescents, individual adults and couples. I coordinated and facilitated adolescent, young adult and adult DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) groups. My focus is on using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT, and a strengths based approach. These are practical, goal-oriented approaches to addressing clients’ concerns.
